Winter Events for Coloma Choirs

Hello everyone
I wanted to update you on the wonderful happenings at Coloma this winter!
We had a spectacular turn-out for High School Solo and Ensemble this past weekend. All eight events earned first and second division ratings! Our participants were: Caroline Arny, Katherine DeRosa, Hayley Girard, Heather Leonard, Alyssa Rouse, Sydney Sample, Ashli Scruggs, and Miranda Trux.
Our Pre-Festival Concert on Tuesday, March 8th will feature the High School Concert Choir and the Junior High School Concert Choir, as well as soloists from Solo and Ensemble. The concert will be at 7pm in the High School Auditorium.
In January, we had our first big choir field trip to Chicago. We took fifty students and twenty chaperones to Navy Pier, the Rainforest Cafe and then to see the musical, Wicked. It was a fantastic trip! The students represented Coloma very well and we all made memories that will last a lifetime.
On February 11th, the High School choir went to see Gold Company Behind the Scenes and GCII. The students had a great time seeing what it takes to be on the big stage at Miller Auditorium. They even had the chance of seeing a current American Idol contestant, Emily Van Allsburg, before she becomes famous in Hollywood with the AI crew. We'll be watching, Emily!
During the week of March 14th, the Junior High and High School students will be very busy people. We have Choral Festival in Schoolcraft, Southwestern Michigan Choral Festival in Kalamazoo, and State Solo and Ensemble at Aquinas College. If you would like detailed information, please add our Google Choir Calendar to your calendar site.
I want to thank you all for being so support of our choral and music programs in Coloma. Please join us for the Pre-Festival Concert on Tuesday, March 8th at 7pm in the High School Auditorium.
Thank you!
-Mrs. Selvidge
